? Who we are

Soft Skills is a Sudanese non-profit organization founded by a committed and well 

experienced group of youth who are highly qualified in humanitarian action field with 

enough experience working in the international and national organizations, who have 

chosen to pursue a shard interest in humanitarian and to achieve the organization’s

objective which is contributing positively to humanity and bringing a real transformation into 

the lives of the vulnerable through: 

1- Working with governments, local authorities and civil society institutions to provide 

the possible assistance for development and build the capacity of women and youth 

to care for their vulnerable communities, provide development programs that are 

linked to their virtuous values and work against harmful practices.

2- Working on developing livelihoods, supporting sanitation curative and preventive 

health, developing natural resources and building the capacities to increase the 

livelihood opportunities, fight poverty and achieving peace and peaceful coexistence

among communities. 

To achieve this, the organization is fully committed to provide services at all levels and with 

high quality and scale that possible 

Our Vision 

A world in which women and youth are well equipped with trainings, knowledge, production 

tools, equipments or inputs and get supported to strengthen, develop/build and care for 

their own communities, enrich their most vulnerable and realize their hope.

enter the state of leadership; we want youths to challenge their own weakness and turn it to 

a limitless energy and indomitable power; we want to tap on their own    great potentials and

Our mission 

Soft Skills is a woman and youth-focus oriented organization to make remarkable 

differences to strengthen them to impact positively in the lives of their most vulnerable.

We put contribution for a better life through provision of reliable livelihoods opportunities, 

shelter, protection, safe water, improved sanitation, primary health care, and nutrition and 

quality education. 

Our Aim

Is to put effort and contribute to reduce gender cross-cutting challenges throughout the 

humanitarian sector such as:

• Discrimination against gender, religious, clan, age etc… 

• Gender base violence (GBV) specially against women and children 

• Inimical and harmful practices awareness provision in community

exploitation, harmful work, sexual exploitation and abuse, and from physical or mental 

violence. Our field work compasses to ensure that children will not be separated from 

their families against their will. 

We work in remote rural communities and empower community members by 

sharing information on the rights of children, advocate for the healthy physical and 

mental well-being of children, their safeguard and peaceful development and growth, 

and contribute to the shaping of legal frameworks in collaboration with the government 

welfare offices and other humanitarian partners. 

Gender-based violence (GBV) is one of the least-recognized human right abuses 

in the world. By including gender equity in all Soft Skills programming, our approach 

addresses underlying causes of gender-based violence. We intensively support health 

services for women and girls suffer by GBV and other harmful practices and advocate for 

improve the legislative frameworks (laws and policies) to better protect and empower 

women. The main activities in this sector:

• Water and Sanitation (WASH) 

Access to clean water is a basic human right. Soft Skills will help communities to build 

and maintain clean water resources and systems for humans and their domestic animal 

consumptions. The goal of our WASH activities is to reduce the health risks connected to 

water-borne diseases and to improve the life quality of the families by reducing time and 

distance in fetching water. Programs highlight the importance of appropriate sanitation 

practices that contribute to the health and life quality of the entire family. Approaches 

include educating people about good hygiene and sanitation practices to reduce the risk

• Education 

Our education programs primarily aim to promote education amongst the underprivileged 

children, youth and adults. We work to cater for the moral, spiritual and physical needs 

of these children and adults, particularly women through appropriate education and 

training programs. 

We promote Education for All approach in the vulnerable communities with a 

significant attention on the education of girls. Vocational trainings, lifelong learning 

education approaches and skills are built into our projects (in literacy, numeracy, 

communication and ICT). We help children to go to – and stay in – school. As part of the 

Education for All objectives we intend to help vulnerable and orphans to achieve their 

full potential.

• Food Security and Livelihoods/ Early Recovery Programs

SSPD emergency initiatives always direct to early recovery and development by building 

sustainability components into all activities. Our food security and livelihood programs 

reflects the early recovery approaches and enhance stable middle and long terms 

sustainability for vulnerable families such as Internally Displaced People, nomadic 

communities, rural villages and returnees. 

Conflict sensitive approaches are used in each food security and livelihood 

initiative based on internationally recognized concepts and approaches to enhance 

community coexistence and mitigate conflict. The intervention areas are:

• Sustainable food security and livelihood management, subsistence farming and 

natural resource management. 

• Vocational training for the youth to increase employment opportunities

• Micro-credit opportunities for vulnerable women 

• Capacity Building for Partners in the Humanitarian Sector

vulnerable youth, women, children and adults. SSPD implements projects with 

community based organizations, the government of Sudan, private sector, and other 

related institutions, international donors, funders sponsors while remain impartial and 

independent in political, ethical or religious viewpoints.

The fundamental values that the organization embraces and encompasses are honesty, 

responsibility and trustworthiness. Both staff and volunteers of the organization are 

honest, trustworthy to provide assistances and support for the most in need.

Voluntarism 

The willingness of the individuals to work for supporting vulnerable and mitigate the 

suffering of the needy through SSPD and giving their time, skills and talents is a 

central principle of the organization. Without commitment of the of offering energy, 

time, skills, capacity and using the voluntary spirit the mission will be difficult to 

achieve the objective or goal.

Non-food Items (NFIs), in South Kordofan (Kadugli) for the populations who were 

internally displaced due to the tribal conflict that took place in Kadugli on June
